Dahab
Dahab means Gold in Arabic and in Sinai it means
golden sands, turquoise sea and off-beat cafe life. This name was given by the
Bedouins who wanted to express the beauty of the shimmering sands as they look
like gold!
Dahab is located 100 km northwest of Sharm El-Sheikh. It is also considered one
of South Sinai's most treasured diving spots. Dahab is famous for its golden
beaches and deep exciting diving sites such as the Blue Hole, The Canyon and the
Light house.
Dahab
is a pearl of the Gulf and consists mainly of two areas, the Bedouin village of
Assalah is the southern half and the tourist centre where the major hotels are
found in the north.
Dahab not only has excellent hotel accommodations but also affords less
expensive housing in a village or camping.
If you want to know what Dahab really is you have to see it, for it’s a treasure
that cannot be expressed in words.
